Ian A Dryburgh M.Ed.

Headteacher. Blackrod Primary School, Bolton.
Executive Headteacher NLE dryburghI@blackrod.bolton.sch.uk

I have been Headteacher of Blackrod Primary School in Bolton for 24 years. I have lead the School through hundreds of initiatives and changes during that time but am proud to write that we have been a high attaining and happy School throughout. This has been recognised in a number of ways most obviously by OFSTED but also in more unusual ways-I was invited to visit Highgrove as a guest of Prince Charles, together with a small group of Headteacher colleagues, in recognition of our achievements-I have been selected as a winner of The NW Leadership in a Primary School category by the national Teaching Awards organisation. The School was on the Sunday Times 100 best primary schools list in 2010.

I have supported a number of schools experiencing difficulty over the last few years the most recent of these as an LLE working for the everyonelearning@ Teaching School Alliance and Bolton LA. I have also acted as a Headteacher Mentor. I am a great believer in the mutual benefits of school to school support as we can all learn from one another.
